Wilma Kohler Mickelson passed away peacefully on August 23, 2019 in her home in Midway surrounded by those she loved and who loved her. She endured illness and injury for many years but always had a cheery personality and a ready smile for those around her, especially for her children and grandchildren. She was always concerned for them and their welfare no matter what her personal circumstances were.
Wilma was the second of four children born to Elmer and Eva Kohler of Midway. Reared in a loving home, she passed those things on to her family. She loved and cared for all those who may find themselves in need of help or friendship, providing a place of refuge for many who were in difficult circumstances, asking nothing in return.
A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served well wherever she was called to do so. She loved children and served in Primary and Relief Society including her most challenging calling as Relief Society President. Her native compassion helped many sisters and their families through difficult times.
Wilma is survived by her spouse Dale and children David, Eric, Brett and Heather. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Elma Rae (Horrocks), Robert Kohler and Paul Kohler. She will be buried in the Midway Cemetery.
Services will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will on Tuesday night from 6 to 8 pm at the Deer Creek Ward (located at 1102 South Center St. in Midway) and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Deer Creek Ward. Condolences may be shared online at
