Wilma "Billie" Leona Larremore

February 29, 1928 — July 5, 2018

Wilma Leona “Billie” Larremore died July 5. She was most recently a resident of The Abbington in Heber City. She was born February 29, 1928 in Salt Lake City to William James Berry and Leona Brown Berry.

She grew up in Park City and was proud to trace her Park City heritage through her great grandfather Henry Cunnington, who came to Park City in 1871. She graduated from Park City High School in 1946 and went to work at Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph, working there until 1964 when the current dial system was installed in town. Her picture resides in the Park City Museum as the “telephone operator” She met Ted Larremore when he came to visit a sister, who was a nurse at PC Miners’ Hospital and they married July 2, 1949. They purchased their first home, at 733 Woodside Ave in 1951 for $1800 and liked to say that residents at the time thought they paid too much.

She spent three years in Omaha, NE and then eight years in Redondo Beach CA, working for General Telephone. She and Ted then returned to Park City and 733 Woodside. She managed the school lunch program for twelve years at Treasure Mountain Middle School.

She was married to Ted for 55 years until his death in 2003. She is survived by one son, Ted W Larremore MD of Golden CO as well as two grandsons, Dan Larremore and Mike Larremore, as well as two sisters, Carol Santy who currently resides in Heber City and Mae Berry, Salt Lake, and her dear friend Tom McCleary, Heber City. She was preceded in death by her son Jack Martin Larremore and her brother Ed Berry.

Billie was known in part for her deep memory of Park City people, places, and events. She was the family historian and was asked by others to identify people and circumstances of historic photographs.

At her request, there will be no funeral or service. She will be interred next to her husband Ted in the Park City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Park City Historical Society or a charity of your choice.
