Wayne Burton Thacker passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 2, 2018. He was a longtime resident of the Heber Valley. Wayne was born on January 20, 1931 in Charleston, Utah to George Angus Thacker and Chloe Loretta Stanley. He grew up in the Heber Valley and graduated from Wasatch High School. Wayne served in the United State Marine Corp during the Korean War.
He was married to Donna Buhler on May 14,1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. He Was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a mission with Donna in the West Virginia Charleston Mission.
Wayne is survived by his sister Anna Durrant of Kaysville, sister-in-law Gennie Coleman of Salt Lake City his children Shauna (Steven) Horner, Lyn Christian (Susan McLaughlin), William B (Karen) Thacker and John W. Thacker, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Wayne's family brought him joy and happiness throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13th at 12:00 noon in the Heber 8th Ward, 1205 West 650 South, Heber City. Viewings will be held at the same location, Friday, October 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 am. Internment will be in the Charleston Cemetery.
