Wayne Sweat, ‘Wino’, age 65, died April 14, 2020 after a long battle with throat cancer. Born Sept. 20, 1954 to Ferris and Zola M Rogers Sweat. Wayne was married to Cindy Heriera in 1975. They had 2 children and later divorced.
Wayne was married on Aug. 20, 1977 to Janie Gunn. They had 2 children Kristina and Shannon.
Wayne worked many construction jobs digging tunnels, subways, storm drains and water tunnels. Wino and his family traveled from State to State with the job.
Wayne was a gifted mechanic. He loved working on his trucks and helping others. He could re-build motors faster and better than anyone.
Wayne liked to tease Janie and Burn backward “J’s” for her. He liked so many things. Almost anything outdoors, mud bogging his Chev trucks, going 4 wheeling on the mountain just to see how far he could go without getting stuck.
Wayne loved to hunt and fish. He liked riding on the mountain looking for deer. He liked horse shoes and shooting his guns. Most of all Wayne liked helping his friends and family. He was always the first one to help someone.
Wayne is survived by his son Shannon Wayne Sweat of Fruitland, daughter Kristina (Mike) Lamb of St. George, son Shawn Sweat of Myton, Daughter Stephanie (Garrick) Murdock of Roosevelt and his 9 grandchildren. Also survived by his companion of 40 years Janie Sweat of Rock Springs, Wy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ferris and Zola Sweat and a brother Paul J. Sweat.
A private family service will be held due to the Covid-19. Interment will be in the Fruitland Cemetery.
