Wayne D. Ivie

Wayne Ivie, age 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 29, 2026 in Heber City, Utah. He was born at home on August 18, 1934 in Heber City, Utah to Myrtle and David Ivie.

Wayne married Shirley Provost on May 15, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wayne and Shirley made Sugarhouse their home for more than 50 years where they raised their children. Wayne loved working on his immaculate yard, feeding his squirrels and robins, and working on his pride and joy - his 1968 Ford Mustang. When Wayne wasn't home he enjoyed camping, hunting, and fly fishing.

Every October, Wayne loved to gather with his family in the Uintah Basin for the annual pheasant hunt. He also spent many years gathering with friends and family in the desert near Quartzsite, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Provost Ivie; three children, Susan, Scott and Debbie; as well as 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and David Ivie; his sisters, Bernice High and Carol Rice; and his brother, Chum Ivie.

A graveside service for his family will be held in his honor at Heber City Cemetery on August 3, 2026 at 10am.
