Virginia Robyn Kleese Lyman Cox

Virginia Robyn Kleese Lyman Cox passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 69. Her life was marked by compassion and creativity.

Robyn was born on August 14, 1955, in Oakland California to Robert Eugene and Connie Smith Kleese. She married Cleo Lyman on August 24, 1973, and together they had three children: James Conrad (Dana), Austin (April), and Kristi Renea. Robyn and Cleo later divorced.

On March 10, 2001, Robyn married David Cox in Heber City, Utah. The two shared a deep companionship and a love for the outdoors. Robyn found joy in camping, hunting, and side-by-side rides through the mountains. Some of her favorite moments were spent in a canoe beside Dave while he fished, enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.

A lifelong learner and caregiver, Robyn earned her nursing degree and served as a Registered Nurse for Intermountain Health. Her career spanned several years at both St. George Regional Hospital and Heber Valley Hospital, where she touched many lives with her calm presence and compassionate care.

She was a very loving woman. No matter who she came in contact with, new people or old friends, she could make you feel loved and special. She was a shining light in the darkest of moments.

Robyn was also a creative spirit who loved to scrapbook—leaving behind countless photo albums filled with cherished memories of her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for crafts, coloring, and reading, and rarely went anywhere without a book in hand. She also enjoyed a good movie and the simple joy of time spent at home.

Robyn had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dog Jill.

Robyn, her sisters and their husbands had four awesome temple trips/journeys to Wyoming, eastern Utah, Iowa/Nauvoo and northern Utah. There was never a dull or quiet moment when together! Robyn loved being with her mom and siblings especially with the laughter and catching up. She also loved going on outings with Kristi and Tristin whenever she could.

She was preceded in death by her son James Conrad Lyman and brother Kelly Eugene Kleese.

She is survived by her husband, David Cox; her children, Austin (April)Lyman, and Kristi Renea Lyman; her grandchildren, Tyler, Kristin, Kristofer, Tymothy, Shay, Kaston, Alyson, Dylan and Tristin; her great grandson, Noah; her mother, Connie Smith Kleese; her siblings, Kolene Creek (Curtis), Rita Twitchell and Marty Kleese; and a circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
