Trae Kent Jepperson

May 8, 2001 — November 3, 2020

“Sadly missed along life’s way, quietly remembered every day. No longer in our lives to share, but in our hearts you’re always there” -Author Unknown

Trae Kent Jepperson, our sweet son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend passed on the morning of November 3, 2020.

Trae was born on May 8, 2001 to Callie Payne and Lance Jepperson, and instantly had such a force of love, happiness and light heartedness radiating around him. He had everyone wrapped around his finger, and it was apparent that day he had a profound purpose here. He’s always felt like the glue that kept our family and friends so tight, even to this day Trae is keeping everyone he loved huddled close around. Trae was born and raised in Wallsburg, Utah where he certainly took advantage of all its beauties, and was lucky enough to be a part of a tight knit family here. Trae could be found during any bit of his spare time with friends or family in the mountains either playing on snowmobiles with Drayden, four-wheeling, horse riding with his dad, hunting, camping or working long days cutting wood, hauling hay or just driving around in his blue 7.3. He was a true breath of fresh air to be around, the kid who was good at everything no matter what he tried, and always the funniest and most entertaining while he was at it. He was quick witted, made every person feel important and loved, and somehow just brought everyone together.

Trae was an outstanding student and easily kept excellent grades. He graduated from Wasatch High School in 2019 and kept busy while enjoying his involvement in the FFA. Trae was an outstanding showman that was dedicated to his projects with his lambs and excelled here, winning multiple titles and buckles. As good as he was, Trae always made sure to extend advice, knowledge or a helping hand to others, too. This was something he and Drayden spent countless hours together doing. He spent much time working alongside his dad throughout his growing up, this is where he learned his amazing skillset and an incomparable work ethic. He has continued to work hard and excel at his most recent employment where he’d recently passed a tough test and became a Certified Water Treatment Plant Operator.

Trae was everyone’s go-to and had such unshakeable bonds with everyone he held close; he was his grandparents very best bud, his brothers and sister’s greatest role model, the one who held his mother’s heart the tightest, his dad’s most captivated audience and very best friend, and his best friend’s favorite good time. His two best buddies Traye and Jake were friends since babies and shared the best times and most fun memories; they were practically brothers. Trae was known to be a friend to everyone and had many great friendships that meant so much- he loved hard and he loved deeply. He had the most amazing relationships with his aunts and uncles, grandparents and parents and he will be dearly missed. It brings us comfort knowing he’s in the arms of his Grandpa Dee having a coke together.

Trae is preceded in death by a very special grandpa Dee Sabey, grandma Pat Sabey and grandparents Farrel and Maxine Payne.
He is survived by his parents Callie Payne (JR) , Lance Jepperson (Meagan), siblings Drayden, Ridge, BrinLee, Aunt Lindsey (KC) and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the immense outpour of love and support shown by the community during this difficult time.
