Thomas Mitchel Morrison, 77, died Sunday 4/27/2025 at Desert Valley Hospital with his family and friends by his side.
Tom was born May 18, 1947, in Salt Lake Utah, to Sear and Marie Morrison. On the day that he was born his mother was playing the organ in church. His dad told her after she was done playing the organ that they had a son.
Tom knew at a young age that he wanted to be an electrical engineer. He graduated with 2 batchers degree 1 in computer science and the other in electrical engineering from The U in 1976. While going to college he worked at Kennecott Utah Copper and joined the Army reservist where he played the French horn in the Army band. Tom was introduced to the love of his life Marsha Luke through a good friend. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on October 10, 1969.
Tom and Marsha had their first (Lori) and second (Wendy) daughters while they were living in Utah. A month after their second daughter Wendy was born, they moved to LaVern, California. They then moved to Claremont shortly after that. It was there their third daughter (Theresa), and their son (Michael) was born. In 1989 Tom and his family moved to Hesperia CA. He loved going to Utah to visit family and said that they would move back some day. He loved being with Marsha and his children.
Tom loved his work and had the opportunity to work for different places like GD (General Dynamics), Hughes and the US Government. He worked his whole life, finally retiring at the age of 77.
Tom started doing Genealogy and loved spending time finding out where his family came from. He loved going to the Family history center and helping others that came in to look up their family history.
Tom is survived by his wife Marsha; children: Lori, Theresa, & Michael; sister, Lynne; brother-in-law, Kennith; brothers, Mitch & Richard; and sister-in-law, Margaret.He was preceded in death by his daughter Wendy; father, Sear; mother, Marie; father-in-law, Bernel; mother-in-law, Nola; and sister, Gail.Tom especially will be remembered for his kindness and love for others. His Smile and knowledge of Genealogy. The love he had for his beautiful wife and children.
A viewing was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints at 10862 Maple Ave, Hesperia, CA. 92344 on May 17, 2025, at 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM, Family prayer at 9:45 AM, The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM .
A viewing and funeral service for Thomas and Marsha will be held in Heber on Friday, May 30. 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1365 East Center Street, Heber City, Utah. Viewing from 9:30 until 10:45 AM. Funeral at 11:00 AM. Interment in Heber City Cemetery.
