Suzanne Witt Thacker, age 85, passed away August 31, 2018 from causes incident to age. Suzanne was born August 7, 1933 to Joseph and Ruth Witt in Heber City, the third of six children. She grew up in Heber Valley and graduated from Wasatch High School.
She married Vern Thacker June 9, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and had 3 children. During their married life they lived in Salt Lake, New Jersey, and San Jose, California before retiring to Heber Valley in 1980. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many. Suzanne was a lifelong member of the LDS Church, serving in numerous capacities. She was a selfless caregiver to many during her life, most notably her husband to whom she was fiercely loyal until his passing in April 2016.
Those who know and love her understand her lifelong physical struggles that took a toll on her quality of life. She always served others to the best of her capacities. The family is grateful she can now be free from pain and is reunited with many of her loved ones whom she missed dearly.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, her parents, and two older brothers. She is survived by her three children: Laura (Kenneth) Ferguson of San Jose, CA, Janette (Stephen) Jewell of Logan, and James (Jessica) Thacker of Highland, her sisters Lavon Provost and Ruth Furr, and brother Mike Witt, along with nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family thanks the numerous family, friends, neighbors, and medical professionals who have rendered generous service to Mom in her final years, allowing her to remain in her beloved Heber Valley where she lived the last 38 years of her life.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 in the Heber North Stake Center (521 E. 500 N., Heber City, UT) at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral services from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment in the Heber City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the LDS Church General Missionary fund.
