Susan Winterton

Our loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend Susan Winterton passed away on July 21, 2021, in Heber City. She was born on July 14, 1957, in Heber City to Lary S. and Dawna Jean (McDonald) Winterton.
Susan was a loving and caring individual. She had a heart bigger than the moon and was always willing to help anyone in need.
At the young age of 14, she obtained her private pilots license and flew gliders at the family business. She worked for the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years, retiring 2 years ago. While employed she served as a corrections deputy in many leadership positions. She was instrumental in the development of the “Prison Christmas Project” as well as other programs at the facility. Susan was a somewhat private person, but she always had a smile and a kind word for all. She loved and adored her many nieces and nephews, never missing a birthday or special occasion.
Susan in preceded in death by her father, Lary S., and brother, Mike L. Winterton. She is survived by her mother, Jean Anderson, and her brother Jeff (Joni) Winterton.
A private graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
