Susan Jean Parry Magoffin April 7, 1955 – April 29, 2026
Susan Jean Parry Magoffin, 71, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 29, 2026, in her home in Midway, Utah, surrounded by her loving children.
Susan was born on April 7, 1955, in Kodiak, Alaska, to Henry “Bud” Parry and Jean Parry. As the daughter of a father whose work kept the family moving, Susan experienced a childhood full of change and adventure. Eventually, she settled in San Diego, California, where she spent the majority of her life. In the last decade of her life, she found a special place in her heart for Midway, Utah—a place she and her beloved husband, Robert Lynn Magoffin, grew to love deeply.
Susan married Robert on July 27, 1976. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.
Susan was, in every sense of the word, a professional homemaker—and she wore that role with pride and excellence. Her greatest passion was her home and her family. She had a remarkable gift for creating a warm, welcoming environment, often centered around her kitchen, where she lovingly prepared exquisite homemade meals. Her home was not just a place—it was a refuge filled with comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
A lifelong, devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Susan lived her faith quietly but powerfully. She did not preach the gospel of Jesus Christ with words alone—she lived it. Through her kindness, service, and genuine love for others, all who knew her could feel her deep testimony of the Savior. She was a relentless, tireless, and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ—a true “good and faithful servant.”
Susan is survived by her children: Nial (Jen), Camilla, Garrett (Jodi), and Joseph (Ashlee). Her siblings: Ron, Mary, Henry, and Matt; Her six grandchildren: Aidan, Aspen, Jeremiah, Benjamin, Savanna, and Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, and her great granddaughter Juniper.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 165 North Center Street, Midway, Utah 84049. A viewing will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Midway City Cemetery, 600 West 500 South, Midway, Utah 84049.
Susan’s legacy is one of love, faith, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed, but her influence will continue to be felt in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
