Born March 6, 1950 to Spencer and Luzenia Rees and raised in Loa, Utah. Devon served his LDS mission in South Africa from 1969-1971. He married the love of his life Claudia in the Manti temple in 1972. He graduated from BYU in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Above all things, he loved the Lord and his people: his wife, Claudia; his children, Tyler and Angela Rees, Jessica and Nathan Rosvall, Sarah and Mike Stull, Garth and Yumie Rees, Rachel and Kenny Cox, Marianne Rees & Geoff Walker (fiancé) Erik Rees, and Kristen Rees. And all his grandchildren, extended family and many many friends.
Devon could fix anything with his magic hands, as evidenced in his repair business Wasatch Mountain Appliance. He loved farming, gardening, all animals, photography, truck driving, singing, fishing, fit stop, and cooking. His well used toys include his tools, truck, jeep, boat, motorcycle, airplane and hot tub.
Visiting with and serving other people were his true occupation and his reason for
living. His winning personality and sense of humor drew people to him like a magnet and charmed people wherever he went. His favorite of all his many church callings was serving in the temple. When asked, "Have you done everything you wanted too?" He replied, "Pretty much."
He died peacefully at home on December 7, 2016 when his work was finished.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10th at the Midway Stake Center (165 N. Center St., Midway). There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and also one hour prior to the services both at the Midway Stake Center. Internment will follow in the Heber Cemetery.
