Sherrie Jo Kinsey

Sherrie Jo Kinsey, age 80, of Mapleton, Utah, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024. Born in Gunnison, Utah, to Shirrl Christofferson and Ailleen Bunton, she was later adopted by Dora and Fred North. She married Ray Kinsey on September 12, 1963 and later divorced. She is survived by her children Tina (Erich) Pfaffinger, Bryan (Shannon) Kinsey, Joey (Andrea) Funari, and David Funari; and many beloved grandchildren.

Sherrie grew up on a farm, where she developed a love for animals, particularly lambs, calves, and horses. A graduate of Wasatch High School, she was an active member of 4H and the track team competing in hurdles. She enjoyed various artistic pursuits, including painting, coloring, and quilting, and had a special fondness for cats. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sherrie's favorite calling was serving as a secretary in the Relief Society.

Sherrie enjoyed humor and was always trying to play tricks on others. She faced many challenges in her life, but she always saw somebody in need and gave whatever she had. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Sherrie will be remembered for her resilience and the lessons she imparted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dora & Fred North. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 6th, 2024 at Heber Valley Funeral Home at 288 N Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032. There will be a viewing from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with the services following at 11:30 am. The interment will be at the Heber City Cemetery at 680 N 550 E, Heber City, UT 84032
