Sharon "Dale" Richards Snider

Sharon “Dale” Richards Snider, our dear wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 14, 2022, at the age of 81.

Dale was born in Burley, Idaho to Dale and Faye Richards. She spent her growing up years in Salt Lake City, where she attended Granite High. After high school graduation, she attended the University of Utah, where she was a member of the sorority Delta Delta Delta.

While attending the U, she met and married Elwood “Woody” Snider in 1962, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 60 years, and raised four children together. They lived in the Salt Lake Valley before moving to Heber City upon retirement.

Dale was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a beloved leader in the Young Women's’ organization for many years. She also enjoyed serving in the Relief Society, where she was a president, a counselor and a favorite teacher. Her compassion and warmth were deeply appreciated by many neighbors and friends.

She was a lovely vocalist, and enjoyed reminiscing of her days singing with various jazz bands and ensembles when she was young. Music and singing brought her joy throughout her life.

Being a grandma was one of her most cherished roles - she enjoyed all her grandchildren. Collectively, they have fun memories of her amazing playroom filled with toys and dressups, pumpkin shopping, cookie baking, “twelve days,” and chicken broccoli casserole.

Dale loved gardening, cooking and was a very talented seamstress. Many friends and family have her to thank for beautiful wedding dresses, prom dresses and imaginative costumes. She adored the Christmas holiday and all that went with it: decorating, baking, singing and of course celebrating. Most of all she loved spending time with her family: her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and their children.

Dale is preceded in death by her parents Dale Richards and Faye Sorensen, and sister Michele Brock. She is survived by her husband Woody, daughters Lisa Snider, Nicole Tischmak and Danielle Haroldsen (Mark), son David (Jennifer), her grandchildren, Erin, Nick (Dioné), Lizzie, Sarah, Kate, Hannah, Grace, and Emma, her siblings Lynn Ann Phillips (Gregory), Lee and Micheal (Connie).

Dale’s family is holding a celebration of her life which will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 11:00 am, at the Old Mill 3rd Ward Meetinghouse, 715 E. 600 S., Heber City, Utah. People can call one hour prior to visit with the family.
