Sharleene Ann Wilson

November 24, 1939 — March 4, 2023

Sharleene Ann Wilson was born Thanksgiving Day, 1939 in Wallsburg, Utah to Ray L Davis and Norma (Wall) Davis (Later Divorced). She was raised in Heber City, Utah when Norma married Ivan R Draper. She enjoyed returning to Wallsburg to visit her grandfather and grandmother Wall. As a child she enjoyed riding her bike in the fields around Heber.

She graduated from Wasatch High School where she learned to play the alto saxophone. She continued playing the saxophone when she attended Utah State University. She played in several community bands during her life and especially enjoyed playing for events at the Midway Town Square.

Sharleene married David LeRoy Wilson on 30 September 1959. She lived the rest of her life in Midway, Utah except for a short time at Fort Lewis, Washington when David was called to active duty in the Army Reserve. They raised four boys.

She surrounded herself with dear friends and was heartbroken when she was unable to keep in touch with them or have them visit because of her health.

She participated in many organizations. She loved being in the Swiss Handbell Ringers, a book club, and a knitting club. She loved serving as a poll worker.

Sharleene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served fourteen consecutive years as a ward librarian. She served faithfully in a relief society presidency even though it took her out of her comfort zone.

She passed away on Saturday, 4 March 2023, after a yearlong battle with cancer and several other unexpected illnesses.

She is survived by her four sons Jeff, Art, Robert (Alisha), and Brad, sister Kathy Moffitt, brother-in-law Paul Wilson (Carolyn), many grandsons, granddaughters, nieces, and nephews. She appreciated getting to know her stepsister Debbie Carter later in life.

She is preceded in death by her husband David Wilson, sister Ranae Cleverly, and parents Ivan and Norma Draper.

Sharleene loved serving others but found it difficult to be served. She did not want to be a bother to anyone. The family would like to thank the many people who sent flowers, cards, well wishes, love, and prayers. The family would like to thank The Horse of Many Colors for their generous support. Finally, the family would like to thank everyone in the medical community, whatever their capacity, that treated our mother with such expertise and kindness.

She did not want to be the center of attention and requested a simple family gathering and viewing on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the LDS Deer Creek church house, relief society room (1102 South Center Street, Midway, Utah). She will be interred at the Midway Cemetery. The family would like to thank Probst Family Funerals and the Midway City Public Works Department for their assistance.
