Scott Vernon Garloch passed away at home on October 14, 2024 in Heber City, Utah. Scott was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on November 5, 1946 to Carlot Bogey and Helena Johnson Bogey. He was later adopted by Pops, Richard Garloch.
Scott attended high school in Camarillo, California. During the summers he worked picking oranges and avocados. He also spent time helping to build an addition and a pool at the family home.
Scott later graduated from Chico State with a degree in business and worked in Los Angeles. Later he moved to Roseburg, Oregon where he owned and operated a motorcycle shop. He loved motorcycles, especially his red Beamer!
Later Scott moved to Spokane, Washington where he began writing letters to a young lady in Heber City, Utah. The two eventually met, Scott moved to Utah, and he and his sweetheart, Christine Bigler, were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 28, 1995.
Together they loved life in Heber. During the summers they traveled to Cedar City where Chris taught Scott to love Shakespeare and the theater. Scott worked a number of jobs, but especially enjoyed working at the Conference Center in Salt Lake. He loved working in the yard, especially caring for his tulips.
Scott is survived by his wife, Christine; his sister Chris Rosenbaum (Dirk); his brothers-in-law, Steven Bigler (Lenora) and Alan Bigler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William. He misses Beamer and his special furry friend, Sanka.
A graveside service will be at the Heber City Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 at noon.
The family is grateful to the hospice workers who provided tender care for Scott, as well as employees of Visiting Angels.
