Sawyer Embry Rasmussen

On December 2nd, our world darkened and the stars grew brighter. Sawyer Embry Rasmussen, born on Valentine’s day 2001, lit up the room as soon as he entered this world. His friends said, “He wasn’t the life of the party, he was the party.”

This big hearted boy, who never intentionally did a mean thing to anyone, touched so many lives. Even in his darkest hours he would push his problems aside to try and help out a friend in need.

He loved fast German cars, babies, hound dog puppies (especially his dog brother, the love of his life, Tarzan), and his mama’s cookin’. Hiking with his dad, brother, and grandpa in the woods and the river, house boating with his Gpa and cousins, teas, foreign foods and eating them with chopsticks. "Oh, God. Aunt Marcy, you gotta taste this!" Hanging with his brother, his cousins and friends, plants, aquariums, and wandering the San Francisco streets at night. Beaches in Hawaii, Los Angeles and sharing mangos with his Gma. Wondering what's next and what's new in the world.
A young soul. A lost boy. Born to raise hell alongside his brother, taking after their dad. Yet Sawyer was still a momma’s boy.

He was as raw as they come. A lover. A fighter. A rose grown from concrete. Sawyer carried an energy that could never be matched. So heavy with emotion, when he stepped in a room, everyone felt it. So pure and so wild. And so in love with life. Always fighting for a brighter day.
Everyone can have a relationship with their siblings. But Sawyer's relationship with his brother Kaleb was more than just that. Polar opposites, but a yin to a yang. Best friends since birth. There was nothing that could separate them. Always leaving a trail of fire when they walked the earth together. 2 poster boys for defiance, they carried a voice for the silent. Those 5150 boys.

There will be a memorial gathering for Sawyer at the Charleston Park located at 3568 W 3600 S on Tuesday, December 8th at 3:30 pm. Friends, acquaintances and family are welcomed, Masks are required.
