Listen to Obituary

Sandra Turner (Zuroff), 70, passed away after a determined and courageous fight with cancer on Sunday, November 23, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born on June 13, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas, Sandra spent most of her childhood in the mountain community of Aspen, Colorado. Raised by her mother, Wava Banes (Henry), after the loss of her father when she was just a year old, Sandra developed an early love of the outdoors—especially skiing—and a resilient spirit that carried her throughout her life. She graduated from Aspen High School and later attended Auburn University.

Sandra lived a life full of movement, discovery, and dedication. After college, she lived in Grand Junction, Colorado, then Escondido, California, before ultimately settling in Midway, Utah, where she lovingly made her home for the rest of her life. She embraced the community wholeheartedly, becoming a familiar and loved presence in the Heber Valley.

An avid outdoorswoman, horsewoman, and distance runner, Sandra was happiest under an open sky. She loved camping, hiking, golf, and anything that brought her into nature. Later in life, she found great joy in golf and travel trailering, enjoying weekly rounds and countless weekend adventures with her husband, Barry Zuroff, whom she married four years ago.

Sandra brought her energy and creativity to everything she touched. Her varied career included work at a television studio in Grand Junction, Park City Ski Resort, and entrepreneurship in Midway, where she owned The Grindlehaus restaurant and Double G Stables, sharing her love of horses through riding lessons. Most notably, Sandra partnered in—and eventually became sole owner of—Pepperlane Preserves, a company she grew with her unmistakable vision, personality, and hard work. Under her leadership, Pepperlane expanded from farmers markets to major retailers throughout the Western United States and into the Midwest. The brand carries her spirit to this day.

Above all, Sandra was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Barry Zuroff; her daughters, Alison Smith (Aaron McIntire) and Lindsey (Grindle) Holmes (Brett Holmes); and her beloved grandchildren: Bryce MacArthur, David MacArthur, Harper Holmes, Tucker Holmes, Cassandra Argent, and Caitlin Argent. They were the center of her world and the source of her greatest pride.

Sandra touched countless lives with her openness, warmth, friendly nature, and straightforward honesty. She never hesitated to speak her mind or offer a helping hand. Her energy, strength, and spirit will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all whose lives she brushed across the country.
