Sandra Lester Brandt

March 11, 1949 — August 1, 2025

Sandra Lester Brandt, age 76, passed away on August 1, 2025 in Heber City, Utah after a long battle with different health issues. She was born on March 11, 1949 to David Marion Lester and Fay Harris. She always preferred to go by Sandy instead of Sandra, she thought her name was too formal.

She married Donald Lloyd Brandt on June 18, 1994 in Phoenix Arizona. She was happy that she had found a great friend in Lloyd. She had always been a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many different callings. She also cherished her time she spent as a missionary. Among some of her callings; she really enjoyed being a pianist in Relief Society.

She enjoyed spending time with her younger sister Karen and spent time wondering what prank her sister might come up with next. She was skilled at quilting and making baby quilts for others, but more recently before she passed, she got into the diamond art painting. She did so many of those, it is hard to count how many. Also in the year before she passed, she found a lot of joy in making hand sewn quilts along with stuffed dinosaurs etc. for some of the young men in our ward that she grew fond of.

She had lived in several different places including Washington state and then she made the move back to Utah when she followed her nieces back to Utah county. She lived in the residence with her nieces Becky and Amber for almost 4 years until recently she was moved up to a facility in Heber.

She is survived by her two brothers, Richard (Wendy) Lester and Steve (Russ Pack) Lester along with her nieces, Amber and Becky Schramm as well as Katy Nelson. Along with Joy Brandt and Mckaila Jade White. She is also survived by Brenda Morrison, a long-time caregiver and friend along with many other cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Fay, baby brother, her Older Brother Mel Lester, sister Karen and her brother-in-law Raymond along with her beloved Husband Lloyd.

She did not wish to have a funeral, but the family will be planning a Celebration of her life in the near future. Her nieces would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Valeo Hospice for helping take care of Sandy for almost 2 years along with Rocky Mountain Hospice and the staff at The Lodge in Heber. She was able to make some great connections with the nurses who took care of her. Amber and Becky would also like to thank her caregiver Jessica who took care of her in Utah county before moving to Heber.

Her Facebook page will be updated by her niece where people can still share their memories and stories about Sandy. Details for the Celebration of her life will be added once details have been finalized.

You were loved and will be missed by so many.

RIP Aunt “silly goose”.
