For six years’ true love has been separated by time and space. On Friday September 30th Ray and Ruth Farrell will never be apart again.
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ruth Farrell returned to her husband and Heavenly Father on September 30, 2016 after issues following a surgical procedure. Ruth was born to Allen and Lola Curry on June 1, 1937 in Heber City, Utah. She married the love of her life, Ray Farrell, on December 27, 1957 in Heber City. Their marriage was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple in May of 1962. The respect and devotion Ray and Ruth shared for one another is the essence that defines love; a truer love could never be imagined.
Caring and compassion defined Ruth’s life. Every action and thought she had seemed to be motivated by the single idea of improving the lives of her family and the people around her. She made every birthday and holiday a special memory. Lessons of patience, love and understanding were a constant practice. Ruth made every effort to live the life her church encouraged and in so doing improved the lives of everyone she touched.
Friends and family witnessed the impact and importance of service in Ruth’s life daily. She often quipped that her husband never did a good deed without her guidance. Ray was the instrument of Ruth’s kindness and the song was sweet. Ruth taught us to live the golden rule and to go beyond. She taught us to leave the lives of others better than we found them. Ruth made sure we all remembered to “pick up before it piles up.”
Ruth is survived by her loving family; brother Gerald Curry of Arizona and sister Audrey (Brent) Hill of Midway, Utah; and her four cherished children, LouAnn (Norman) Lim of California, Linda (Troy) Klungervik of Heber City, Doug (Andrea) Farrell of Cedar Hills, and Annette (Jason) Norlen of Heber City; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the Heber 6th Ward Chapel (1365 East Center, Heber, Utah). There will be a viewing the same day prior to the services from 9:00-10:30am at the same location. Interment will follow the services in the Heber City Cemetery
