Rustin was born Dec. 5, 1972 in Heber City, Utah, to Rodger and Anne Ivie. He died Nov. 21, 2017 at home.
As a boy he loved to be outdoors, hunting with his Dad and all the Ivie family at “The Cabin”. He loved going there and had a special place in his heart for the Unitah Basin. Rustin played Little League Baseball and loved to pitch. He was also a wrestler and won many matches.
As an adult he worked as a stone mason and was very proud of his work. He liked to show us the different jobs he had done. He worked in the oil field and also learned about the painting business with a very good friend. Rustin was a master storyteller. He loved being with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of us that knew the real Rustin.
He is survived by his Mother, and sisters Stefanie Carlson (Brett) and Cheryl Ivie. He is also survived by his beloved children, son Shoni and Daughter Regan. He leaves behind 5 nieces and 3 nephews, 4 great nephews and 3 great nieces. He loved these kids with all of his heart. He leaves in our care his loyal and protective friend Soldier who watched over him even in death.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister Wendy, grandparents Ral and Dora Ivie, John and Mary Miller. Waiting to greet him is his special Angel Julie and other family and friends that went on before.
As his family, we would like to thank those of you that were his true friends and remained so until the end. He loved you.
Funeral service will be held Monday Nov. 27, 2017. Viewing 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. Service start at Noon, at Heber Valley Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street. Cremation will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help with expenses would be greatly appreciated.
