Ronald Edmond Sharp, 79, of Morgan, Utah passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with heart failure. Ron was born December 6, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl and Fay Sharp.
Ron was an avid fisherman. As a young boy he developed his love of fishing from his dad and grandpa Sharp. That passion has continued to this day. That was the beginning of a lifelong love of the outdoors.
He attended South High School in Salt Lake City before honorably serving his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. During his service in Vietnam, Ron worked as a Morse code and radio operator and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded during a flight. Following his military service, Ron became a devoted father and hard-working provider. He had two children, Alicia McArthur and Ron “RD”. Later in life he married his best friend Deanna and together they welcomed two more children, Cooper and Karlee.
Throughout his life Ron worked in many roles and touched countless lives along the way. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was one of the best listeners and easy to talk to because you never felt judgment, just support.
Ron managed multiple grocery stores, drove truck for Frito Lay, and alongside his brother he also ran a movie theater, known then as The Towers in Salt Lake City. Ron proudly served on the Monticello City Council where he helped secure approval for the Lloyd's Lake Dam project, a contribution that reflected his dedication to his community. He attended SUU, majoring in science and biology, becoming an RN and later a Director of Nursing over many care facilities.
Ron found joy in life's simple moments. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, exploring for Indian ruins in Monticello, playing his guitar, doing yardwork, and taking care of his garden - especially his prized tomatoes. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic. He enjoyed working as an RN at senior rehab centers and the Veterans Home, up until the day he passed.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Fay Sharp; and brother, David Sharp.
Ron is survived by his wife, Deanna; sons, RD (Jenny) and Cooper; daughters, Alicia (Jase) and Karlee; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Carol, Debbie, Carla, and Tina; brother, Scott; Little Dave; and his beloved dog, Bailey.
Respecting his wishes, no funeral service will be held. Instead, we ask that you celebrate Ron in life's little moments.
