Ron Lefler, age 72, passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2026 at his home in Tabiona, Utah, surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer. Ron was born on August 10th, 1953, in Heber City, Utah, to Fay and Winona Lefler. He attended school in Tabiona. He played basketball and track and graduated from Tabiona High School in 1972. Ron married Dixie Mecham on July 29th, 1972, in Tabiona, Utah. Together, they had 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Ron spent most of his life in Tabiona and Hanna, where he created many memories.

He learned the great value of work at a young age while logging with his dad and brothers.

Ron worked many jobs over his lifetime, including driving a water truck for the Oil field, Harper construction, building Wolf Creek Pass, and for the State of Utah, where he retired in 2016.

Outside of work, his life revolved around his deep love for his family. He was an incredible husband, father, and Pa to his grandchildren and great grandkids. He enjoyed following and watching his kids and grandkids in their sports and activities.

Some of his cherished moments were spent hunting with his son, grandsons, brothers & nephews. He looked forward to the summers when he spent every weekend at Wyoming Downs. He never missed a weekend. He had a great passion for horse races.

Ron survives his loving wife of 53 years, Dixie. Children Jarrod (Mindie) Lefler of Tabiona, Misty Lefler (Mike Wilson) of Tabiona, Angela (James) Vanwagoner of Payson. 10 grandchildren, Charlee (Tim) Teto, Jarret (Madi) Lefler, Braxton Lefler, Stetson Kay, Bailee Kay, Kylee (Brady) Cook, Sharica Lefler, McKinlee (Kolton) Iverson, Milee Strebel, and Roper Kay. 8 great grandchildren, Jexden, Huxden, Watson, Keenan, Cooper, Wakley, Arlo, Kenzlee, and two on the way. Siblings Jim Lefler, Jack (Ellen) Lefler, Ellen Pippy, brother-in-law Ralph, and Jeff Mecham, and sister-in-law Brenda Bearhens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Wiona Lefler, and father-in-law Lewis Mecham. His brothers, Jerry (Jean) Lefler, Brad Lefler, and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Lefler and Linda Mecham.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 5th, 2026 @ 11:30 a.m. at Tabiona Chapel, with viewing from 9-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Tabiona Cemetery.
