Coach O'Connor
October 4th, 1961 - January 14th, 2021
Members of Team O'Connor took to their knees, bowed their heads and quietly lifted their hearts to Heaven this week, as the dear Lord blew the whistle and gently called Coach O'Connor to the sidelines. The game of his life was lost to ALS. Coach O'Connor is now playing for the Angels, the team he trained for all of his life.
Coach O'Connor will be remembered most for the life lessons he helped others to learn; lessons in unconditional love, forgiveness, believing in yourself, appreciating every facet life has to offer, and finally, loving beyond measure and staying faithful and strong in the face of adversity. As an educator, coach, and player he touched the lives of thousands of students, staff and players. He gave all of himself to others in the game with his dedication, love, hope and determination. His warm smile and the twinkle in his eyes will be remembered and was made brighter by his favorite players, his children Caitlin, Paddy, Brian and his loving and patient, devoted wife, and Assistant Coach Elizabeth.
May the Lord always and in all ways keep Coach O'Connor close in our hearts. May he continue to coach us from the sidelines. May he find delight in the glories of Heaven and may he be completely filled with the love that can only be found in Heaven.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to each member of Team #O'ConnorStrong for the visits, the companionship, the meals, the laughter, and the loving support that you have brought to all of us.
Bob loved a good party!! Regrettably, the current situation with the pandemic makes planning a proper and worth celebration of life challenging. As we navigate what that might look like, we will make details public at a later date.
