It is with heavy hearts that we announce, on February 7, 2023, Robert Lynn Magoffin unexpectedly, and tragically passed away in Midway, Utah. Robert was born April 8, 1954, in La Mesa California. Robert was 68 Years old. He is preceded in death by his Father Garold Alfred Magoffin, his Mother Jean Doris Magoffin, and his eldest brother Kenneth Alan Magoffin. Robert is survived by his wife Susan Jean Magoffin, and his four children Nial, Camilla, Garrett, and Joseph.
Robert was a devoted husband to his wife Susan Jean Parry Magoffin. They were married for time and all eternity in the Los Angles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 29, 1976. Robert was a loving father to his four children Nial, Garrett, Camilla & Joseph. He was a brother to Kenneth Allen Magoffin, Jonathan Alen Magoffin, Aleta Becky Magoffin, and Lee Scott Magoffin. Robert was extremely proud of his six grandchildren, Aidan, Aspen, Jeremiah, Benjamin, Savannah, and Lincoln.
Robert spent the majority of his life in San Diego, California. He was raised on a hog farm and was involved with many of the day-to-day tasks and chores that go with farm life. Robert grew to love his Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful and stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to Serving a Mission in Florida, he served in multiple bishoprics and was honored to serve 14 years as an ordinance worker in the San Diego Temple, before moving to Midway, Utah in 2015.
Robert loved Midway! He had a passion for fishing, and most days you could find him on the banks of the Middle Provo River fishing with his dog Ronnie. He was a craftsman and loved working with wood. He was patriot and loved his Country. Most of all he was a family man and loved his family. He was known for his gentle and generous spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Throughout his life, Robert faced many challenges, but he never lost his positive attitude or his unwavering faith. He lived life to the fullest, yet in the simplest terms. Robert had a great sense of humor and would make the most of every opportunity that came his way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
As we say goodbye to Robert, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who have passed before him. We will always cherish the memories we have of him, and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Robert. We love you and will miss you till we see you again.
There will be a viewing on Friday, February 17, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1102 S. Center St., Midway, UT 84049 from 9:00AM - 10:30AM followed by a funeral service, at 11:00AM.
