Robert Glendon Evans

April 10, 1944 — March 11, 2016

Bob passed away at his home in Washington, UT. On March 11, 2016. Robert Glendon Evans was born April 10, 1944 in Heber City, Utah to Glyndon P. Evans and LaVerne North Evans. He was raised in Heber City, Utah where he helped his dad deliver stove oil to his customers throughout the valley. He loved to fish in his spare time.

He attended Dixie State College and Utah State University and graduated from Utah Trade Tech in Architectural Drafting.

He married Vicki Gordon on Feb. 26, 1965 in Heber City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake temple Nov. 4, 1978. They were True Blue companions for over 51 years.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, Washington, Utah and their four children; John Robert Evans, Sr., St. George, Utah, Janette (Chad) Cook, Clinton, Utah, Amanda (Brad) Himes, St. George, Utah and Jennifer Hanson, Hampstead, No. Carolina. He has 11 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter.

He is also survived by three sisters: Norma (Darl) Wolfe, Salt Lake City, Utah, Janice Connelly, Layton, Utah and Wendy (Jeff) Bushman, Boise, Idaho.

Bob was an active member of the LDS Church. He served in many positions over the years, always faithfully and to the best of his ability. Bob & Vicki grew in the gospel along with some other special friends in Lyman, WY. He had a special love for missionary work. He was a 100% home teacher and cared about those he had stewardship over. He also very much enjoyed spending time in the Temple. Bob & Vicki went to the temple regularly until his health would no longer permit.

He enjoyed racquetball, golf, pool, reading and spending time with his family. He was a kind man and had a quiet way about him.

Bob was employed at FMC Corp in Green River, WY for 27 years where he had a special talent for managing and mediating people under difficult circumstances. He was a good listener and got along well with everyone. He retired from FMC March 31, 2000 after health problems no longer allowed him to work.

Bob was a loving husband, son, son-in-law, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2016, 11 a.m. at the Heber 9th Ward Chapel, 325 E. 500 N., Heber City, UT. Viewing will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. preceding the services. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
