Robert C Draper, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the Harrison Regent retirement home in Ogden, Utah. Robert will always be remembered as an amusing storyteller, an Uncle, and a friend.
Robert was born on February 16, 1951, the son of Dr. Willard J. Draper, and Helen Martin Draper in Heber City, Utah. He spent his childhood in Heber City and was the youngest of 3 siblings.
Robert graduated from Weber State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. Later he was accepted into Brigham Young University as a graduate student but declined the offer to pursue his interest in the culinary arts. He was trained as a baker at the Homestead Resort in Midway. Robert worked at the Heber Valley Medical Center for about 20 years as the Food Service Director and ran the Meals on Wheels program.
Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed his Sundays attending church at the retirement home. He loved the great outdoors and in his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Robert enjoyed gardening. He planted a fruit orchard containing multiple varieties of apples and in his vegetable garden he grew giant pumpkins and winter squash. He also had an affinity for roses and grew the most wonderful rose garden displaying vivid colors of red, white, orange, yellow, and violet. Robert was multi-talented and some of his other hobbies included playing the electric keyboard and scuba diving.
Robert is survived by his brother Martin Barre Draper, sister Diane Draper Carlile, and fifteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Willard J. Draper and Helen Martin Draper.
