Listen to Obituary

Robert W. Brady was born on December 5, 1937 and passed away on November 11, 2025 after a long battle with mesothelioma. Robert was diagnosed five and a half years ago at the Huntsman Institute, and he was blessed to enjoy good health and energy for several years after his diagnosis and successful treatment to manage the disease. The day he was diagnosed, his doctor told him that 50% of people with his diagnosis are gone in 18 months, and very few make it past five years. Typical of Robert, he took the challenge and beat the odds.

Robert was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and was a great supporter of many ministries and churches in his almost 88 years here on earth. He was blessed with 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He and his wife Linda were both married previously and had five children between them. They would both tell people who were interested in listening that yes, there is life after divorce and amazing joy and peace are possible when couples' hearts turn to the Lord and let Him guide them on their journey together. Their marriage was a rich testimony of grace, acceptance and hospitality for all kinds of people. They knew no strangers.........at least not for long!

Robert was born in Forth Worth, Texas to E.F. and Eloise Brady. He had a twin brother, Ronald (deceased, 2021), and a younger brother Richard. The family moved to San Diego where his father owned and operated a drywall and plaster business, E.F. Brady Company. The company grew and prospered and as young men, Robert and his brother Ronald took over the company and turned it into a regional powerhouse in the construction industry.

Robert loved to hunt, fish and was a lifelong adventurer. He was an accomplished and graceful snow skier and was known for his mastery of the "mono ski" back in the day when onesies and mono's were hip. He could also slalom water ski and enjoyed showing his skills to friends when he was in his 70's. He was known by some as the "Energizer Bunny", a nickname he earned for his indominable spiritedness and remarkable energy throughout his life. Robert spent many days on Western rivers and lakes fly fishing, and he loved the sport passionately. He was an accomplished big game hunter and had several trophy mounts he proudly displayed in their homes. He could also shoot pheasants quite well, and enjoyed hunting with good friends.

Robert and Linda traveled the world, entertained friends and guests often, loved good wine and food, lived abundantly, loved Jesus and praised the Lord in all things. He would not want us to mourn his "graduation" from this earthly life, as he was prepared and confidant in where he was going. In a recent conversation, he said that he wanted to live as long as the Lord allowed him to, but when it was his time to be with the Lord he imagined that one day he "just wouldn't wake up." And so it was on November 11, 2025.

It's impossible to capture the essence of a man like Robert in a few short paragraphs, and we could write many chapters about all of the experiences we were blessed to share with him. He was generous, kind, dapper, gracious with word and deed and above all he was a man after God's own heart.

And now, we have the opportunity to celebrate a life so well lived. Today, we're saddened for Linda and their family members who have lost their husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. But they haven't really "lost" Robert. His spirit and our memories are eternal, and for that we are so grateful.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Mountain Life Church, 7375 Silver Creek Road, Park City, Utah 84098. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations in Robert's honor be made to Hope Alliance.
