Richard Allen Ward Henning passed away at age 80 on September 1, 2023 in Heber City, Utah.
He was born on September 30, 1941 in Park City, Utah to Joseph A. Henning and Flossie Marie Ward.
Richard grew up in Park City, Utah and graduated from Park City High School.
He met the love of his life Mary Ann Kochevar and they were married on October 3, 1964. Together they had two sons, Brian and Mark.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy, he was also a Park City Police Officer before he became a Highway Patrol Trooper for the Utah Highway Patrol where he served honorably and courageously for 35 years before retiring.
Richard had many hobbies and interests, but he was most happy when he was camping, fishing and hunting with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Henning, his two sons Brian (Natalie) Henning and Mark (Wendy) Henning, his sister Betty Jo Georgio, his grandchildren Steven (Teran) Henning, Ozzy (Alexa) Henning, Shannell Sterio, Crystal Kaeser, Taylor Kaeser, and Kayden Foster, seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild that is on the way.
Richard was a friend to all and was always willing to help anyone and everyone. He will truly be missed.
A viewing with be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Heber Valley Funeral Home (288 N Main St Heber City, UT 84032) from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a funeral service following at 11:30am. Interment will be at Heber City Cemetery.
