Rebecca Ietta Rowley

April 27, 1936 — September 29, 2022

Rebecca (Beckie) Rowley was reunited with the love of her life, where we know they danced into each other’s arms on September 29, 2022, just two months after Tom started his own heavenly adventure. It was always Tom and Beckie. Beckie was born April 27, 1936 in Cuahoga Falls, Ohio to Blakney and Elizabeth Smith. Beckie was the youngest of five children. At an early age of 1 year old, her father passed away leaving her mother to provide for her family. After her mother remarried, the family moved to southern California. Beckie met the love of her life Tommy at a dance contest. They were married on September 23, 1960, and later sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Beckie and Tom raised 4 daughters. Beckie was a wonderful seamstress and made all of her own clothes as well as her kids for a time. Tom and Beckie were regional dance instructors for the LDS Church throughout southern California where the performed and taught for a number of years at the dance festivals in Utah and California. Dancing was their life while raising their children. Beckie loved the sunshine. She always had the darkest tan. She loved to travel especially to the beach. This was one of her happy places. Her other most happy place was of course Disneyland with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Beckie made friends in the many places that she has lived, and those friends have been part of her life for many, many years. She is truly loved by all who met her. She would give the shirt off her back or sew something up at a moment’s notice. She had a true Christlike love for all and was such a wonderful example to those who knew her. She served in many capacities for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had so much faith in the Lord and lived her life serving others.
Beckie is survived by her children Sheila O’Neal, Theresa (Mark) Baronek, Kristie Erickson, Cheryl (Billie) Rowley, her brother Ronald Smith, her grandchildren: Dominique (Trent) L’Heureux, Stephanie (Buzz) Harmon, Derek L’Heureux, Lindsey (Casey) Powers, Colton O’Neal, Sarah O’Neal, Jessica Wheelock, Casey O’Neal, Eric Wheelock, Espri (JT) L’Heureux, Trey Erickson. Her Great grandchildren: Khloee, Isabelle, Zoe, Athena, Alayna, Maximus and Sariah.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Rowley, daughter Deborah June her parents Elizabeth and Blakney Smith, her step Dad Andrew Hlas, her brothers Ernie Smith, Lawrence Smith and her sister Marvalis Hatch and her son in law Pace Erickson.
