Ray Marchant Shaw, 87, of Heber City, passed away peacefully September 5, 2019 in the Heber City hospital surrounded by family. He was born May 8, 1932, in Coalville, Utah to Joseph Elmer Shaw and Emma Valoie Marchant, the oldest of three children. He attended North Summit High School. He married his highschool sweetheart, Correne Gustaveson, on September 8, 1951 in Coalville, later solemnized in the salt lake temple May 13, 1959.
Ray was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He served in several capacities but his favorite was scout master. He was instrumental in helping many young men reach the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved camping with the youth as well as his family, hunting, fishing, and taking long rides.
He served many years for the Wasatch County Search and Rescue.
His employment has included Browns Equipment in Hotysville, Pameco Aire in Salt Lake City, and he retired from Wasatch County hospital in 1994.
After being bored from retirement, he took a part job at Timberline.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 68 years, his children Lori, Provo Care Center, Alan (Debbie) Farr West, UT, Mark (Bonnie) Portland, OR, and Janelle (Paul) Cook, Heber, UT 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren. His brother Glen (Dixie) Shaw, Hoytsville, UT and sister LaJean (Scott) Francis, Morgan, UT
Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 am in the 3rd ward LDS building (400 So 300 East). A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, from 6-8 pm and also 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial in Coalville cemetery.
