Ralph Neil Hilton Sr. passed away on April 4, 2017, in Provo, Utah at 87 years old. Neil was born on June 26, 1929 to David Lawrence “Bud” Hilton and Fay Murdock.
As a proud participant in the AAU Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament in Denver Colorado, Neil took 2nd place. Neil was proud to have boxed in the same club with world middleweight champion, Gene Fulmer. Although Gene was two years younger, Neil was very proud to have won a match against him. In his younger years he enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, boating, jet skiing and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his only brother Joe. He looked forward to deer hunting with his family. Neil loved working, and did so five days a week until the age of 84, at which time he sold his business. He was a business owner for 65 years in Heber City. He was a legacy on Main Street. In his later years he enjoyed going to the senior citizen center and playing pool with his dear friends 5 days a week. He enjoyed the companionship of those friends. He was still ordering tires until the day he passed away. There was no way to keep him from changing a tire.
Neil married Donna Pedler in November of 47 and together they had 5 children; David Neil Hilton Sr. (Jeanne), RoLayne Young (Robert), Gordon Richard Hilton Sr. (LuAnne), Sheryl Ann Crawley (deceased), Shirley Kaye Hilton. They were later divorced. He married Marcia Fitzgerald. They had two children; Ralph Neil Hilton Jr. (Anna), Alan Hilton. They were later divorced. He then married Nancy Erickson Pelton and gained two step-children; Tammi Pelton Cluck (Robert) and Robert F. Pelton. The two have been married 37 years and enjoyed traveling, dancing, yard work, gardening and loved their dogs Bobby and Snuggles.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, children, sister Patsy Holmes Schrader (Ted), his children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brother Joe and sister Bonnie.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Lake Creek Ward Chapel (6250 E. 1200 S., Heber). There will be a viewing on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm and again from 9:30–10:45 am prior to the service at the Lake Creek Chapel. Interment will follow in the Heber City Cemetery.
