Our loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ralph Monroe Giles, passed away peacefully on March 9,2017 at the age of 88. He was born on May 1, 1928 to George Alfred Giles and Grace Giles in a log cabin on their ranch in Tabiona.
He married Jolene Josie on January 3, 1946. They divorced later in life. He then married LaRue Dansie. Ralph did farm work for his dad for the first few years of their marriage. He then bought a milk truck and ran a route picking up milk from upper Hanna to Roosevelt. He did this for 11 years. ln 1958 Ralph went to work for the U.S. Forest Service working in the High Uintahs and fighting many forest fires. He loved working in the Granddaddy Lakes. He retired in 1990 from the Forest Service. He was then able to do what he loved most and that was ranching and raising cattle full time. He was a very friendly, hard working, honest man. He was a great example to his family and was loved by many. He always loved a good horse and a good dog.
We want to give our heartfelt love and thanks to Peta and Latu Fonua and daughter Leka for their many hours of loving care that they gave dad.
He is survived by his 5 children-Carolyn (Voy) Stewart, LaVon (Diane), Dale (Lenna), Jan (Ervan) Rhoades) and Hal (Terri), 24 Grandkids, 61 great grandkids with 3 on the way, and 2 great, great grandkids with 1 more on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elaine, and brothers Leslie and Delyle
