Phyllis Elaine Buck Kohler passed away peacefully Aug. 14, 2018. Born to Richard Frasier and Myrtle Young Buck on February 21, 1930 in Park City, Utah.
Phyllis married LeRoy Kohler in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1952. They had 9 children. She was a huge supporter of her kids and all Wasatch High School activities. You could always find her in the bleachers at every wrestling match. With her enthusiasm and cheering she cleared the seats around her trying to help each wrestler win their match. Their home on the dairy farm was always a open to all i.e. exchange students, along with many hay haulers. Phyllis was an amazing cook and fed more people then we can count in her kitchen. She baked hundreds of loaves of swiss bread every year for Swiss Days and many to share all year long. Her chocolate cakes were so good she always made three because one was never enough. It was always Roy’s favorite.
She loved living in Park City and was in the PC marching band. She graduated from Park City High School in 1948. Phyllis kept her self-occupied with many activities. She loved book club for over 50 years, she loved building and driving the floats each year for Swiss Days enduring many hot 24th of July parades. She was one of the first members of the Swiss Hand bell Ringers, participated with the Choralettes for many years and would include her kids in their program each year. In Santa Rosa California she served a mission from 2005-2006. She served faithfully in her church callings in the Primary and Relief Society. She was Midway’s Honored Citizen in 2011 and the biggest BYU fan ever!!
Phyllis’s legacy is her family. Along with her 9 kids, she has 43 grandchildren and 57 greatgrandchildren.
