Born November 22, 1941, in Heber Utah to Ren and Marjoria Crook Provost. He grew up in Midway Utah, the second of five children and graduated from Wasatch High School. He left this earth on October 4, 2023, in Heber Utah after a short illness conducive to age.
He married his high school sweetheart Susan Thomas on January 9, 1960. They were best friends, confidants, fishing adversaries, and she was his team roping coach! Together they spent a lifetime traveling America for work. He was the greatest salesman and could sell ice to an Eskimo. They met many great and wonderful people that became treasured friends for the rest of their lives. He worked hard and they played even harder.
Phil enjoyed roping, rodeo, a good horse, fast cattle, and a dog that laid on the porch. His love for horses began early in his life. He traded a pocket knife for his first horse and worked that entire summer herding dairy cows to and from the field at the base of the Midway Mountains. He spent most of his summers as a child on the family farm and ranch in Lake Creek Utah with his Grandpa and Grandma Crook herding sheep, pressing apples, and putting up hay. This is where he became close to his uncle Cal who was his hero.
His life revolved around his sweetheart and making sure his Suzie Baby was happy! For the last 25 years, he couldn’t wait to be with her again! Together, they left a wonderful family legacy which has been a wonderful comfort and joy in his life. No matter the family member or friend, each thought they were his favorite.
Preceded in death by his Parents, Son Eric, and Grandson Lane.
Survived by his daughter Ann Provost (Dennis Hall) and son Jon Provost (Connie), 15 grandchildren and spouses, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great- great- grandchildren and 4 siblings LaRen Provost (Patti), Paul Provost (Tania), Marjean Garowski (Gary) and Clair Provost (Chalise).
