After a valiant battle with cancer, Perry Kim Proctor died on March 19, 2017 in Heber City, UT at the age of 63. He leaves behind his wife, Debra Proctor; his daughters, Kami Williams and Amy Strickland; and his sons, Phillip and Derek Proctor.

Kim was born on June 10, 1953 in Panguitch, UT, to father Thomas Sevy Proctor and mother Ramona McIntosh Proctor, who predeceased him. He grew up in a loving family with two sisters and one brother. Kim graduated from Panguitch High School in 1971. In 1972 he was called to serve in the Northern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric of the Heber 9th Ward for 6 years. In college, he excelled in welding and HVAC maintenance. He graduated with honors from Utah Valley Community College with a degree in HVAC Maintenance in 1988. He worked for The University of Utah as an HVAC Mechanic and retired after 26 years of service in October 2015.

Kim married Debra Gardner on April 10, 1981. They started their family in Panguitch, UT and relocated to Heber City, UT in May of 1986. There the couple lived and raised their four children.

Kim was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved his family, children, and grandchildren above anything in the world. He found a love of the outdoors at a young age that continued for the entirety of his life.

Kim is survived by his wife Debra Gardner Proctor; children Kami Lynn (Jon) Williams, Amy Dawn (Rob) Strickland, Phillip Karl (Becca) Proctor, and Derek Gardner (Jill) Proctor; grandchildren Hazel Mae Proctor and Thomas Sevy Proctor II; sisters, Shana Rae Witters and Valerie Pearson; his brother, Thomas Max Proctor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Sevy and Ramona McIntosh Proctor; in-laws Robert Grant and Clea Gardner; and grand-niece Sheila Blake.

The family would especially like to thank Lisa Nelson, Kim’s hospice caretaker, for her excellent work and loving care; the staff of Huntsman Cancer Institute for their constant, attentive treatment; and the Probst Family Funeral Home, for making the arrangements.
