Peggy Gale Giles, 83, passed away Thursday Oct 21, 2021 after a long, but valiant struggle with illness. She was born April 30, 1938 to Myron (Mike) Gale and LaVern Sloan in Ogden, Utah. She attended school in Ogden and Park City, before moving to Midway in 1947.
She married Joe Giles, 31 Aug 1955 in Heber City, Utah. Their first years were spent working in the Uinta Mountains. They lived in a small cabin in the hills, they came back to Heber in the winters. Peg worked at the Hub Cafe, at the Wasatch Medical Clinic, and for the first aid station in Park City. In the summer, the adventurous couple loved to boat at Lake Powell and Deer Creek; or you could find them cruising around the mountains in their Jeep. In the winters, they loved to snowmobile and spent many hours doing both with family and friends. Peg and Joe were a power house couple on the Highway patrol shooting team, participating in many competitions together.
Peg spent 5 years with her sisters caring for her mother until she passed away. “Nurse Giles” was always there to patch up the kids and grandkids whenever they needed it. Peg was an incredible sister, mother, grandmother, wife and friend to many. Peg loved crafts, and she made beautiful painted gifts for friends and family. She loved to crochet and to make macrame gifts. Peg was extremely talented and to receive a gift from her was always a blessing. Peg was a spit fire with whit and words; in any conversation she would keep you on your toes. To know her is to love her.
Peggy is survived by her two sisters, Jane Hoaps and Tamara Allman. Her Daughter in law Monta Crook Giles, and grandchildren: Colby and Brandy, Joshua, Lorna Topete, CaHugh and Mel, Justin and Hannah, Brady and Demps; her great-grandchildren MaKayla, Alexis, Shelby, Treyson, TyKoda, Corbyn, Elliana, Marcus, Haikyn, Trennon and Jase.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Micheal Gale. Her husband of 60 years Joe, infant daughters JoLynn and Debra Joe. Two sons Randy Giles and Joe E. Giles.
