Pauline Simmons Peterson, 87, died December 24, 2023, in Heber City, Utah. She was born June 22, 1936, in Charleston, Utah, to Joseph William (Bill) Simmons and Idona Nielson Simmons. She married John Arland Peterson on December 3, 1954.
Over the years, Pauline worked many jobs to support her family. Some of her jobs include Cloys Gear Factory, Walmart and finally retiring from the Wasatch County School District. Though she had many talents and accomplishments, Pauline's children were her real treasure. She has 7 children, 10 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. She used her seamstress skills to make clothing for her family, beautify her home and supplement the family's income. It was not unusual to find her sewing everything from curtains to a wedding dress. She was as adept at home construction projects as she was writing poetry. When extra space was needed, Pauline designed and built bunk beds and much needed shelving. Pauline is well known for her artwork and family members were frequent subjects for her drawings; some hang on her walls today. Pauline's gardens produced abundant crops, which she shared with friends and neighbors. She preserved much of her produce and kept her family well supplied through winter months. Pauline loved genealogy work and completed thousands of records for the Home Extraction program. Her love for the gospel of Jesus Christ guided her throughout her life of selfless service.
She is survived by Laura Jane Brenay (daughter) and Joseph Derrick Brenay (son-in-law), Alan John Peterson (son) and Candylynne Peterson (daughter-in-law), Arlene Buehler (daughter) and Gail Buehler (son-in-law), Carolyn Wall (daughter), Teressa Montoya (daughter) and Valreo Jess Montoya (son-in-law), Steven Douglas Peterson (son), Sheral Ann Taylor (sister), Joyce Giles (sister), Jolene Simmons Cox (sister).
