Patrick Joseph Araguel, Jr. passed away at his home in Midway, Utah at the age of 75. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Patrick J. Araguel, Sr. and the late Althea Camel Gast Araguel, where he resided through his college years. He attended Jesuit and de La Salle Academies in New Orleans and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in 1963 and Juris Doctorate Degree from Tulane University in 1967. Pat entered the United States Army during the Vietnam War in the rank of Captain, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, from 1967 until 1972, being stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia for most of his service. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Small Arms Expert Medal.
He practiced law in Columbus, Georgia for over forty years. He was a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Louisiana Bar Association, and admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Courts of Georgia and Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
Pat is survived by a son, Patrick J. Araguel, III (Destin, Fl) , a Stepdaughter, Jade Holt Lusk (Dracula, Ga.) and a Step Son La Don Bryan (Destin, Fl). A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wasatch Mountain Golf Course Clubhouse in Midway, Utah at 6 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
