Norma Jean “Jeannie” Young, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, was welcomed home to heaven into the loving arms of the many who journeyed before her, including her beautiful daughter Dusty, on August 12, 2024.
Jeannie was born November 30, 1956 to Earl and Irene Fowler in American Fork, UT. She was number seven of nine siblings, all of whom she cherished. She married Marvin Neil Young twice in the summer of 1972, on June 26th and again on July 3rd. They have lived out their happily ever after in Wallsburg, UT for 52 years. Together they raised four children Jonny (Teri), Stacy (Robert Peterson), and Jace (Jacquie) and welcomed many more that found their way into their home. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her whole world. She always had hugs and treats for them every time they would visit. Each of them has so many special memories of spending time at Grandma’s house. Her nieces and nephews were just as special as her children and grandchildren to her. She had a heart big enough to give them all a piece of it.
Jeannie was amazing as a seamstress. She could visualize any design from baby clothes to wedding dresses and brought them to life at her kitchen table. She enjoyed canning with her children and grandchildren and made sure all their cupboards were full for the winter.
She loved being outdoors. She loved camping with her family. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting in the boat alongside her husband with a fishing pole. She enjoyed being in her garden gathering giant zucchini to make her sought-after relish or on the mountain picking wild berries for her delicious jams.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her daughter, two grandchildren, her father and mother, her father-in-law and mother-in-law (Marvin and Shirley Young), a sister and three brothers.
