NORMA NYE BATES
June 29, 1940 - August 20, 2015

Heber, Utah: Norma Nye Bates (Lux), loving Mother, Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend returned to her Heavenly Father and family that have been waiting for her on August 20, 2015.
She was surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born June 29, 1940, to Erycel and Clara Rhoades Nye, in Tabiona, Utah. She went to school in Tabiona, Heber City and Midway.

She married her sweetheart, Earl Bates, August 24, 1956, in Heber City, Utah. They were blessed with two sons, David Earl and Ricky Allen. Earl passed away August 7, l982. Norma married TJ Lux, April 19, 1985.

She was a wonderful Mother and homemaker and also worked at various jobs, most recently at the Wagon Wheel Cafe in Heber City. She made many friends there. Everybody loved Norma.
She loved being with her family. She especially loved being in the mountains and camping with them.

Norma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the power of prayer.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, parents and brother, Allen E. Nye. She is survived by her two sons, David Earl (Kristen) and Ricky Allen (Michelle), loving companion, TJ Lux, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Arlen (Freddie) Nye, sisters Jessie Shirk, Shirlene (LeRoy) Richardson, Mary (Wesley) Sweat, Susan (Martin) Kovick, sister-in-law, Kay Geddes, life-long friend, Karma Chappel, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Daniel 1st Ward, 2330 South Daniel Road, Heber City, Utah, at 1:00 p.m. A viewing will precede it from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Internment to follow at the Midway Cemetery, 600 West 500 South, Midway, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donation to help with funeral expenses.
