Nelda “Marie” Lindsay passed away 4 March 2023, in Orem, UT. She was surrounded by family and loved ones the last few days of her life. She was a resident of Orem since 2000.
Marie was born in Burley, ID on 26 June 1938. She was the daughter of Clarence and Luella (Wilkins) Gibson. She was the tenth of twelve children. At a young age, she moved with her family to Pocatello, ID where she grew up and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1956. After graduation, she worked many years in the insurance industry in California, Colorado, and Idaho.
While living in Colorado Springs, CO, she met her future husband, Stanley W. Lindsay. He was in the Army and stationed at Ent Air Force Base. After a short courtship, they were married on 3 November 1960 in the Idaho Falls Temple. During their married life; they lived in Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, Provo, Seattle, Colorado Springs for a second time, Boise, and then retired to Orem.
Marie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent many years serving in the Primary and Young Women’s Organizations.
Marie was blessed with two children, Brian and Carolyn (Randy) Hyde. She is survived by her husband, two children, four grandchildren and their spouses, seven great-grandchildren, and the beloved members of her extended Mongolian family. She was preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings, and a grandson.
Per Marie’s request, there will not be a funeral service. She will be buried in the Heber City Cemetery, Heber City, UT. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, make a donation to the LDS Missionary Fund or a charity of your choice.
