Born February 15, 1923, the son of an immigrant tailor, Morde Lupatkin grew up on Fordham Road in the Bronx, he went on to serve his country in Europe in WWII. After his honorable discharge he completed his college education at The University of Missouri.
He then met and married Theresa Goldsweig and together they started life in Switzerland where he attended the University of Zurich School of Medicine, tackling the tough curriculum that was taught in Swiss-German, a language that was previously unknown to him.
After Morde graduated he and Terry moved to Westchester County. He was a small town doctor with a big heart at a simpler time when doctors carried black bags, still made house calls and treated mothers, fathers, their sons and daughters and their sons and daughters.
Dr. Lupatkin touched the lives of many in Eastchester and the surrounding area.
He was often thought of as part of his patients’ families. He died in his sleep on January 7th, just one month shy of his 92nd birthday. He will be greatly missed.
Dr. Lupatkin is survived by his children Barbara Maw, Bruce Lupatkin and Linda Lupatkin and his grandchildren.
A private service will be held on Sunday in what has been his recent beloved home, Park City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice in Morde’s name.
