Monica Bignall Kohler, 83, Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, passed away peacefully at Carrington Court Assisted Living on December 21, 2019. Born March 1, 1936, the 4th child of Bliss and Reva Bignall. Monica grew up in Heber City, Utah graduated from Wasatch High School and then from the University of Utah. She married Alvah Kohler in the Salt Lake Temple on June 10, 1959. They raised 5 children, whom they loved and cherished. Monica was a loved and devoted school teacher for 40 years in Salt Lake City and Midway, Utah. In 1990, she was named Utah Teacher of the Year. Monica and her husband, were active in the Midway Boosters and was involved in the annual Swiss Days Celebration. She led the Children’s Swiss Choir for many years. Al and Monica were named Midway Honored Citizens. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She loved puzzles and was an avid Utah Jazz fan and never missed a game. She always had a smile on her face and gave a hug and kiss to everyone.
Monica is survived by children; Lori (Cal) Stringham, Matt (Kimalee) Kohler, Keri (Mac) Hernandez, Becki Kohler, Ryan Kohler, Kahlia Kohler, 18 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, sister Rosalee Ferguson, brother Fred Bignall. Preceded in death by husband, Alvah, parents, and 2 brothers.
