Mildred "Gig" Clair Davis
March 16, 1926 — November 11, 2019
Our dear little Mom Mildred "Gig" Clair Davis has passed Nov. 11, 2019. Born March 16, 1926 in Park City, Utah to Alta Virginia Taylor and William Henley. She married Rex “J” Davis May 11, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mom had so many friends but her best friend was Alta Meeks. Those two would ride their bikes to Heber and around Midway then put fruit up together and set under the apple tree and wave to everyone. Well Mom, you two can sit with all your wonderful friends for Eternity.
She is now reunited with her husband Rex after 34 years. Mom loved everybody and everyone knew “Gig”.
Mom had many nieces, nephews and she loved them all. One niece was always taking her places and even took her to her home in Heber for 6 months when she was so sick and her kids couldn’t get home from Vegas and jobs. She also would bring her to Vegas and everywhere else. She wanted to thank Helen Rose Derusha and give her love to her.
Mom was a hard worker and helped so many elderly people in this valley.
Mildred is survived by her children; Peggy (Terry) Roy of Midway, Gary (Susan) Davis of Mesquite and Tom deceased (Robyn) Davis of Midway, sister Che Thomas of Toppenish, Washington, brother Edward (Susan) Gunnyon of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex “J” Davis, brothers Bud, Jack and Tom, sisters Shirley Hagan and Virginia Daffern, also grandson Shane “J” Davis and Carrie Lee Davis. Mom had 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
We want to thank Rocky Mountain Care Center for everything and the wonderful nurses and aids that took such wonderful care of mom. Her Sweet room mate Peggy Hughes who watched her and Dr. Garth Muir, a wonderful Doctor, so compassionate and kind. We love you Mom. You will always be in our hearts. Love you for all eternity.
At her request a graveside will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at 12:00 (Noon) in the Midway City Cemetery under the direction of Probst Family Funerals. Friends and family may visit the online guestbook and share a memory of Mildred at www.probstfamilyfunerals.com .
