A life does not have to be measured in words to be beautifully, profoundly heard.

Our beautiful silent angel, Mickenzie Rae Read, age 31, gained her wings on October 16, 2026. She graced our presence on April, 27, 1995 to Stephanie Dotter Read and Joseph Clifton Read.

A young diagnosis of Rett syndrome never kept Mickenzie from a life full of adventures. Her family made sure of that. They shared everything with her including but definitely not limited to…swimming with the fish in Hawaii, touching the magic of Disneyland and hospital stays that could rival their many girls’ weekends at the Grand America. Mickenzie was always the heart of every adventure. She was never just along for the ride. She was part of what made every journey memorable with those she loved most.

Grandma Rae was so much more than Mickenzie’s namesake; The love they shared was rare and immeasurable. She loved dearly all those she is survived by; Her Mom Stephanie Dotter Read (Josh Richardson); Father Joseph Read; Sister JayCee Read (Evan Weaver); Brother McCoy Richardson; Grandmothers Pat Redmond (Grandma Rae), Bonnie (Richard) Grebe; Grandfathers Larry (Shauna) Dotter, Clifton (Mary) Read. Nephews Rayder, Rocky, Riott Daggs, other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Preceded in death by Great Grandmother Edith Hackford, Grandfather Ronald Frasco and Uncle Nick Reed.

Mickenzie will forever remind us that love does not always need words, that joy does not require a reason, and that a person's impact on the world cannot be measured by what they say or do, but by what they awaken in the hearts of others. Her life was a silenced kind of wonder, a beautiful testament that there is so much more to a person than what the world can see or understand. She was simply Mickenzie. A beautiful girl with a beaming smile, a joyful spirit, and a way of making life a little brighter just by being in it.

Now the world feels a little less bright without her, the light Mickenzie brought into it will never fade. It lives on in the memory of her sparkling eyes, in the image of her unforgettable smile, and in the hearts of all those who were forever changed by knowing her. Some people leave footprints on this earth. Mickenzie left something even more lasting. A little more love, a little more tenderness, and a deeper understanding of what it means to touch another soul.

To know Mickenzie was a blessing. To love her was a gift. To carry a piece of her light for the rest of our lives is a privilege.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Probst Family Funerals, 79 E Main Street, Midway, Utah. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be in Heber City Cemetery.
