Melvin George Larsen, son, husband, father, grandfather and friend returned to his Heavenly Father in the early morning of August 8th 2015.
Melvin was born on February 22nd 1939 in Midway, Utah to William Neils and Mildred Bessie Larsen in the old Johnson mill. He was the youngest of four children and the only boy. His sisters JoAnn Larsen Bonner (deceased), Dorothy Larsen Christensen (deceased) and Wilma Larsen Chavez who still resides in Midway and he loved each one dearly.
Melvin was full of life and never passed up a chance to be mischievousness, to tease, or to have great conversation. He had a love for the outdoors especially when it came to fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and ATV’s, four wheeling’ and long drives. He was the best of the best in his trade as a diesel mechanic, welder, and truck driver. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. He has seven children, Jackie Lynn Hemphill (deceased), Leslie Jean Vickers, Shelly Ray Sly, Billy Joe Larsen, Sandie R. Peterson, Mindy Lee Larsen and Brenda Lynn Larsen. His legacy lives on through them and his twenty-four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many different capacities. He has a great faith and love for his Savior, family, friends and country. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 13th at the LDS Church house on 250 E. 200 S., Midway, UT. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 12th, 6-8:00pm at Probst Funeral Home, 79 E. Main St, Midway, Utah; and Thursday from 9:30-10:30am prior to the services. Interment at the Midway Cemetery, Midway UT.
