Our Beloved Wife, Mother, grandma, and friend, Melinda Weishar passed away quickly on January 14, 2024. She was 65. Melinda was born April 7, 1958 in Spokane, Washington to Melvin and Belva Trexler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law Deryk Valgardson. She is survived by her husband Dan, brothers Daniel Trexler, Glendale Trexler, and Timothy Trexler (Holly) as well as her children Daniel (Amanda), Luke (Shane), Joshua (Erika), and Sherena (Moroni). Melinda has ten beautiful grandchildren that she loved and adored: Maddison (15), Olivia (14), Sophia (11), Daniel (10), Rosie (9), JJ (8), Charlie (4), Ana (3), Mateo (2), and Alessia (1).
To know Melinda is to have loved her. A beautiful woman in heart, mind and soul. Her gift was always seeing good in whomever she encountered. She had a way of making every person feel unique, loved and hopeful. One always left her presence feeling elevated.
Her passions were many, including first and foremost her hubby, children and grandchildren. She invested her time and talents in them, creating special occasions to gather. She loved baking, gardening, playing card games, shopping, and dining out with her family.
Dan and Melinda were high school sweethearts. From day one, inseparable, always seen together.
Their endearing names for each other were "sugar baby" & "hunka hunka burning love". Their hearts' desire was to serve and bring joy individually and collectively.
Melinda was active throughout her life in many ways. She enjoyed supporting her high school as a cheerleader, and as a representative in student government. She also volunteered serving others in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, especially her time spent in the temples. However, teaching young children primary songs is where she felt most fulfilled.
When we remember Melinda, we will always remember her warm, gentle smile. Her love and light live on. Our memories with her will be cherished forever. Big hugs, juicy kisses, kind words and special gifts, our hearts and lives are forever changed, your love endures.
In honor of Melinda, her celebration service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 715 E. 600 S. in Heber City, UT. The closed-casket visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral services at 11 a.m.
