Mary Louise Chase Olsen passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at the residence of her son Tony in Heber City, Utah, of natural causes, surrounded by her family and beloved pet dogs. She was 81 years old, and will be sorely missed.
Born September 2, 1938, in Nephi, Utah to Irel Lynn Chase, Sr., and Louise Barton, she spent her childhood years on the family ranch south of Levan, Utah, and also in Nephi. Graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, where she was crowned as royalty during her teenage years.
Married Alton Patrick Dugmore on March 23, 1957, with whom she had two children: Antony Patrick (1959) and William David (1960). They spent many years in the armed forces, both in Europe and the United States, and they were later divorced.
Met Wayne Gorringe Olsen from Ogden Utah, and they were married June 26, 1985. After five years in the Salt Lake City area, they moved to Logandale, Nevada, into their dream home among many wonderful neighbors and friends. Wayne passed away there on his birthday, October 16, 2006. In all , they spent 30 years in Logandale. In her final two years of life she moved to Heber City, Utah, to live with her son Tony and his family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, and her brothers Irel Lynn Chase, Jr. (Kathryn), James Barton Chase (Rosemary), and her sister Laura Chase Norris.
She is survived by her brother Randal Stuart Chase (Deborah) of Washington, UT, and by her sons Tony (Brenda) of Heber City, UT, and Billy (Molly) of Dallas, TX, plus 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
At her request there will no funeral services. She will be cremated and her ashes, along with those of her husband Wayne, will be scattered upon her property in Logandale, NV. After the present coronavirus restrictions on large gatherings have passed, there will be two celebrations of her life—one in the Salt Lake City area and one in Logandale, NV.
