Marvin Lloyd Burrow

January 16, 1929 — September 30, 2024

Marvin Lloyd Burrow 95, died September 30, 2024 in Heber City, UT. He was born January 16, 1929 in Inglewood, CA to Pernie Joe Burrow and Gladys Laura Emery.

He married Doris LeBeau in 1949 later divorced. He married Beverly Joyce Thompson on November 8, 1952, later divorced. He married Martha Ellen Stroshine April 25, 1963 later divorced.

Marvin grew up in Bloomington, CA where, as a youth he worked on his family’s chicken ranch. On graduating from Colton High School in Colton, CA he went to work in the construction industry as an ironworker. First for Fontana Steel where he worked on many large construction projects around southern California. He was the foreman on most of the projects he worked on and was very proud of the fact that these projects (including bridges and dams) were for the benefit of society and the fact that no lives were lost on the projects he headed. His work eventually took him to other states, Louisiana, Ohio and finally Texas where he worked on projects like the DFW Airport and a large hospital in Ft. Worth. He retired after more than 40 years in the trade. On retiring he moved to Seattle, WA to be near his daughter and her children and then to Heber City, UT to help his son build his home. He settled in Heber and lived there for over 30 years until his death. Marvin was very handy and was very innovative in solving problems with mechanical devices. It wasn’t always pretty but it worked very well. He was an expert model builder and a great cook. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where in Fontana, CA he served in many positions and assisted in the construction of the new Fontana Ward building.

He is survived by a son Michael Burrow (Shellie), a daughter Marva Sapp (Londy), 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pernie Joe Burrow and Gladys Laura Emery, a brother Melbourne Burrow and his sons Marvin Burrow Jr and Mark Burrow.

He wished no funeral service so the family will be commemorating in private.

He will be interred at the Heber City Cemetery, Heber City, UT
